Description

As an underground miner with us, you will have the opportunity to work broadly with various tasks in underground production.

This may include driving a water truck or concrete truck, rock drilling, long hole drilling, as well as loading, unloading, bolting, and shotcreting. The working hours are on a shift basis, 7/7. This means you work for seven days and are off for seven days.

As an underground miner at Björkdalsgruvan, you are an important part of our team, contributing with a strong sense of responsibility and a high focus on safety.

Qualifications

We are looking for someone who either has a mining education or a heavy machinery operator education with experience in driving heavy vehicles, or has extensive experience operating wheel loaders, trucks, or other heavy vehicles.

A valid driver's license (B) is required.

As a person, you should be responsible and able to drive your own work forward without compromising safety. You also need to be a team player who enjoys working towards set goals.

Eligibility assessment according to MSB

In accordance with the law on the handling of flammable and explosive goods (LBE 2010:1011), aimed at complicating illegal handling of explosive materials, increased requirements are placed on controlling and assessing the suitability of individuals working with explosives. As an underground miner at Björkdalsgruvan, you are expected to work with several tasks within the blasting cycle, including loading. Therefore, Björkdalsgruvan registers all miners for approval by MSB.

In some recruitments, we conduct a background check on the candidate who reaches the final selection stage. This is done as part of our safety work and to contribute to a safe workplace where both information and resources are handled securely.

At Björkdalsgruvan, located outside Sandfors Kåge, we mine gold ore in our underground mine. We are located just outside Sandfors, nearly 40 kilometers northwest of Skellefteå. At our site, we have the entire mining process from prospecting, planning, and extraction to processing and waste management in the form of ponds. We are a young and driven team with over 240 employees and around a hundred contractors. We are owned by Alkane Resources.
